"Sum-Sum-Summertime!"
Summer is definately here along the Mississippi gulf coast... and all eyes are on the south Atlantic whenever there is mention of a storm.  Hurricane "Bertha" has been downgraded to a tropical storm.  Just this week tropical storm  "Elida"
strengthened into a Hurricane south of the Baja penninsula on the west coast of Mexico.  You can still pick up your 2008 hurricane tracking map at the GO FM studios, or when you see us out and about on location with the GO-mobile!!

Hope you found a great place to watch the fireworks over the long 4th of July weekend!  I was manning the BAR-B-Q (I didn't burn anything this year, and I still have all of my fingers and toes!).

As for live music on the Mississippi Gulf Coast... the summer is just getting started!  Def Leppard with Joan Jett & the Blackhearts August 3rd at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum!!!  Lat time I saw Def Lep must have been around 1994 or '95, when they played the coliseum with Ugly Kid Joe (remember those guys?  they had a minor hit with thier version of "Cats in the Cradle" by Harry Chapin).  I've been a fan of Joan Jett since I first heard "I Love Rock-N-Roll", and if you go back even further to her days with the 70's girl-group The Runaways... How can you not be a Joan Jett fan!?!  Ch-Ch-Ch-Cherry Bomb!

Thanks for waking up with your Morning Show on the GO!
If you keep listening, we'll keep talking.

It was a long roadtrippin' weekend for me... quick drive to Atlanta on Saturday, came back last night.
Why is every damn street in that city called Peachtree-something?!?  I know that Georgians are proud of thier peaches, but  c'mon!
Gas prices make that trip a little more expensive these days... right around $200.00 on fuel alone.
If you want to save some cash on gas join 105.9 GOFM, and other area radio stations, for THE 20th ANNUAL RADIO FOR RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE...
Tuesday June 24th noon to 7pm in Edgewater Mall, Biloxi.
Wednesday June 25th noon to 7pm in the Cypress Ballroom at Hollywood Casino, Bay St. Louis.
Thursday June 26th noon to 7pm in the gym at MS Gulf Coast Community College, Gautier.

All blood donors are automatically entered to win a $750.00 gas-card and other prizes includeing a 4-day Carribean Cruise for 2!!!

Me and Cruise will be hanging out from 5 to 7pm at the Hollywood Casino blood-drive on Wednesday evening... rock-n-roll-up-your-sleeve and give the gift of life this week with the 20th ANNUAL RADIO FOR RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE.

My favorite movie candy is Sour Patch Kids!

I went to the movie theater last night to see THE HAPPENING, the new flick from the guy who brought you THE SIXTH SENSE, SIGNS, and THE VILLAGE.  Writer, Director, Producer M. Night Shyamalan guides the viewer  through an isolated east-coast event which leaves bodies in its path.  The movie is suspenseful, and thought provoking (and funny at times), but Shyamalan is not as concerned with the twisted endings he has been known for in his previous blockbusters.  THE HAPPENING ends very vague and ominously.  I suggest waiting for it on DVD (unless you are a huge fan of the Director).
If you ever have a movie review you would like to share with us during the Morning Show on the GO, please feel free to call us with a thumbs up or thumbs down on the new releases.  435-1059 or 826-1059.
We recap the weekend box office results around 7:40 every monday morning, and let you know about the most recent DVD releases at 7:40 tuesday mornings.
THE INCREDIBLE HULK brought in the green and captured the top spot at the theaters over the weekend, and the Jack Black, Mos Def  video store comedy BE KIND, REWIND is available on DVD today.

Happy movie-watching!

Well, did you throw-up riding the rides at the Coast Coliseum Summer Fair?  In the future make sure you eat after you ride.
The Summer Fair continues through the 15th... enjoy it while it lasts.
This coming weekend is the Jubillee Jam in Jackson... I went last year and had a blast with the Black Crowes playing, the great arts, crafts, and the food!   This year ZZ Top headline Friday night & the psycho-gospel-pedal-steel-sounds of the Robert Randolph Band on Saturday !  I highly recommend the Jub-Jam... blocking off the streets in downtown Jackson, MS and putting on a huge street party... although you still have to pay for the gas to get there and back.

The woes at the pump continue... regular gasoline hit a nationwide average of $4.00 per gallon!
Of course we know this effects the price to ship goods, especially food, as we see grocery prices increase.
105.9 GO FM to the rescue!  Sign up for the GO FM LISTENERS CLUB, and you are automatically entered into the GO FM GROCERY CLUB FREE MONEY GIVEAWAY!  Listen for your name to be called out over the radio, when you hear it you have 10 minutes and 59 seconds to call us back (435-1059 or 826-1059) and score $100.00 to put towards your grocery bill!  The more you listen the better your chances!  We will call out several names each day... could happen at any time.

Thanks for letting us wake you up from 6 to 9am Monday thru Friday!
We promise to keep the music flowing on 105.9 GO FM!
